“The team and the car will be appearing at the Lowe Public Library in our hometown of Shinnston, WV once again this year for the ‘Race Into Reading’ program,” commented Scott. “My aunt, Debby Starkey, who is also the Head Librarian, has invited us back this year to join her in this program which the library offers throughout the summer months to encourage children to keep up on their reading skills although school is out.”

The ‘Race Into Reading’ program will be held on Thursday August 9 at Lowe Public Library located at 40 Bridge Street (across from the Shinnston Municipal Building) in Shinnston, WV beginning at 11:00 AM. For more information on Lowe Public Library visit: http://lowe.lib.wv.us or telephone: (304) 592-1700. “Anything we can do to promote something this positive I am all for,” stated Scott. “We have done this several times in the past and we get a real kick out of the kids, it's just a good time for everyone involved. Not only does it promote reading it also is a great way to get the kids involved in our sport and to promote our sponsors. So it's a win-win situation.” “There is so much in today’s world for kids to get mixed up in, positive programs such as this are needed more and more. We are just tickled to be able to have a small part in it.” Scott and the team will remain in West Virginia this coming weekend for two special events.

“This weekend we will be competing locally at Elkins Speedway for the IRS Sanctioned ‘RH Armstrong 50’ on Friday and then on Saturday we will be at Tyler County Speedway for the ‘Earl Hill Memorial’ and then back to Tyler County on Sunday for the ‘Hillbilly Qualifier’.”
