Shinnston, WV --- West Virginia dirt Late Model driver Robbie Scott, 30, of Shinnston, WV swept the weekend with two victories at Beckley Speedway in West Virginia and Roaring knob Speedway in Pennsylvania. Scott competed in his Rocket Chassis/Mopars by Stanton #18 sponsored by Amos Paving, Atlas Autobody Parts LLC., Patricia Feltz, Walt's Inc., Advance Auto Parts of Shinnston, WV, Hoosier Tire, Rocket Chassis and Scott Sign and Design.

“This weekend has been one that we have been waiting for all season!” exclaimed a very jubilant Scott. “We started our weekend Friday at the Beckley Motor Speedway in Beckley, WV at the ‘Henry Hornsby Memorial 39’ where we timed in as fast qualifier out of 22 cars. We went on to transfer to the dash after finishing second in our heat to Tim Dohm. We won the dash to earn the pole position in the A-Main where we went on to lead all 39 laps for the win!” “It was a huge honor to win this race in the memory of Henry Hornsby Sr. I have a lot of respect for the family and they are great people. This was the first time at the Beckley Speedway this season and I felt the new promoters are doing a great job. The track was smooth and racy. We hope to go back in September for the ‘Let Freedom Ring 40’ a race we won in 2004.” Scott’s winning weekend was over though!

“Saturday we decided to go back to Roaring Knob Raceway in Markleysburg, PA which would turn out to be a smart decision,” understated Scott. “We won or heat race and took the lead in the feature on the second lap and would lead the remaining 24 laps to secure the victory. This was a career first victory for us at this track which had once plagued us with unfortunate luck.” “Since returning to race at this venue for the first time in six years several weeks ago. We have posted a second, third and a win in our three starts there. This is something we extremely proud of. The track was racy top to bottom and our car was perfect as it was the night before.” “The Roaring Knob facility is great and the staff is also, this place had our feature over at 8:50 PM and we were the second feature on the program to run. All this after a short intermission. The weird thing is, you never feel rushed between races. Other tracks could take some notes on how to run a smooth show from this place.” “I would like to give a special thank you to our engine builder Gary Stanton this weekend. We were running an engine on loan to us from him and it has performed flawlessly. We have had two Fast Times including one was in the World of outlaws Late Model Series, a dash win, a heat win and two feature wins with this engine. So thank you Mopars by Gary Stanton Race Engines!”

Scott also is excited to announce the addition of two new sponsors. “We picked some extra financial support from our long time friends and supporters Rocky and Shane Hinzman,” stated Scott. “This has come at a critical time for us as things are very tight with us financially, so this is a true blessing as were the wins also.” Scott will also be behind the wheel of another Late Model during Labor Day weekend. “I also am pleased to announce I will be piloting the #88 Rocket owned by Chad Green of Bridgeport, WV in the ‘Hillbilly 50’ at Tyler County Speedway along with our Mighty Motorsports #18 Mopar in the ‘Hillbilly 100’ event August 31st and September 1st,” revealed Scott. “Chad contacted me last week and I was thrilled to accept his invitation. I have not had many invitations to drive for someone so this was a big surprise for me and I appreciate the offer!”

This coming weekend will find Scott racing at Elkins Motor Speedway on Friday and a return trip to Roaring knob Speedway on Saturday. The all-new Robbie Scott website is located at www.robbiescottracing.com Additionally, Scott will be spotlighted in a feature story in an upcoming issue of Dirt Late Model magazine.
