SHINNSTON, W.V. -- West Virginia standout dirt Late Model driver Robbie Scott, 30, of Shinnston, WV has announced his intentions that he will hit the road in 2007 in search of the Independent Racing Series (IRS) Rookie of the Year title as well as taking a shot at the championship. The new IRS dirt Late Model sanctioning organization will hold their inaugural season in 2007. The second-generation driver will be racing the teams Rocket Chassis/Mopars by Stanton #18 sponsored by Amos Paving, Atlas Autobody Parts LLC., Walt's Inc., Advance Auto Parts of Shinnston, WV, Hoosier Tire, Rocket Chassis and Scott Sign and Design. Its something Ive always wanted to do and something I need to do career wise, I feel, stated Scott. Being a small budget team its hard but we'll try our best. To be able to win an accomplishment such as this would be just a huge honor. Scott also found the concept and scheduling of the new series to his liking. The schedule seems to work fairly well for us, it will still be difficult but I think it will be a great experience. Also getting on board with Mr. (Dean) Miracle and his series the first season, hopefully we can evolve together. Scott is a former track champion at Elkins Speedway, Tyler County Speedway and a former W.V State Championship Series Champion. With 50 career wins and experience with other sanctioning bodies, including a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory at Tyler County Speedway, he feels he has set realistic goals. My goal is to just try and make all the races and to finish, commented Scott. To get the experience you first need to make the show, and if you make the shows the points take care of themselves. So thats what were shooting for. Supporting the Mighty Motorsports team will be crew chief Bob Scott and crew members Kay Scott, Rocky Hinzman and Stevie Pill. I really need to thank my crew and especially our sponsors, said Scott. Gary Amos at Amos Paving in Bridgeport, WV; K.J. Woody at Atlas Autobody Parts in Buckhannon, WV, Walt McIntire at Walts, Inc., and the folks at Advance Auto Parts, both here in Shinnston, WV. Scott also will be tentatively competing in selected events throughout the region sanctioned by MACS, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series and independent races. Scott also announced that a new Mighty Motorsports website will debut soon.
