Robbie Scott Makes IRS Debut; Racing In WV

Shinnston, WV --- West Virginia standout dirt Late Model driver Robbie Scott, 30, of Shinnston, WV made his debut with the Independent Racing Series (IRS) racing the team’s Rocket Chassis/Mopars by Stanton #18 sponsored by Amos Paving, Atlas Autobody Parts LLC., Patricia Feltz, Walt's Inc., Advance Auto Parts of Shinnston, WV, Hoosier Tire, Rocket Chassis and Scott Sign and Design.

Last Friday night at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, OH Scott started on the pole and was in control of the race until misfortune struck relegating Scott to a 20th place finish.

“What took us out of the IRS show was a ‘mud glob’ that wedged in the fan blade area and sent the fan through the radiator,” explained Scott. “We led the first 11 laps and I feel we had the car to beat! We were actually set up for the end of the race but we fired surprisingly quick.”

“It was just one of the deals you just can't prepare for. All you can do is take the good points and try to focus on them and get ready to go again. Which is what we're doing. The next to race tracks we're heading to on the IRS deal are unknowns for us but sometimes that can be an advantage.”

“Hopefully we'll get some of this bad luck out of the way early and start building some momentum for the rest of the season!”

This coming weekend Scott will be racing in his home state of West Virginia with appearances on Friday at Elkins Motor Speedway and then on Saturday to Tyler County Speedway for the annual TOPLESS 50 race, a race Scott won in 2005.

Scott also announced that a new Mighty Motorsports website will debut soon. Additionally, Scott will be spotlighted in a feature story in an upcoming issue of Dirt Late Model magazine.
