September 11, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Robbie Scott Races At Roaring Knob
This past weekend saw the Mighty Motorsports team racing at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex for the King of The Knob 50, explained Scott. The race format for this particular track is a little different than most series or race tracks we frequent. We drew a pill for starting positions in the heats where the top three would transfer to the feature but the top two finishers in each heat would redraw to make up the first 12 starting positions in the feature. There were 48 cars on hand, we drew a bad pill and would start seventh of eight cars in the fourth heat. We would end up finishing second in the heat to earn a chance in the redraw for the feature. We ended up drawing the pole position for the feature event. When the race started we took off and had a good lead and the car felt great. We led several laps and on a restart we pushed coming off of turn two and eventual winner Jason Covert would pass us for the lead. By the end of the race we would end up falling to fifth position where we would finish the race. It was a good night though, everyone raced us clean and it was a good race. I think we chose the right tire combination but would have been more consistent if we had prepared the tires differently because it took us about four laps to get the car where it drove neutral. The restarts were killing us and that's where we lost our track position, after about four laps our lap times were comparable to the leaders. We learned a little bit and we will move on to the next race but we are proud of how it turned out. This was our first time in this race and it was our worst finish at this track in four races this season. So all in all it was a good night. We had a great fan turn out again this past weekend and I would like to thank them all for stopping by and supporting us. It is always great to meet and share a few words with your fans! This weekend we are planning on attending the Lucas race at WV Motor Speedway but that is still in the air. Keep an eye on our website for our plans.
